Ok, this story deviates from my usual Barbie stories. This was told to me by a friend of the family back in Northern Ireland and when hearing the story our Barbie admitted she could see herself doing this. So, we will now have a British Barbie addition to the blog for today.
So British Barbie has discovered the joys of selling and buying from her computer at home by the means of ebay. One day she decided to sell a dress that she had purchased some time ago but had never gotten around to wearing it. Having paid £20 (about $32) for it she wasn’t too attached to it or upset to see it sold so she listed it on ebay for auction. After a few days a sale was agreed upon to the sum of £8 (about $13). So the dress, with the original price tag on it since it was never worn, was packaged and shipped out.
Fast forward a few weeks and while window shopping, if that’s the appropriate term, on ebay our British Barbie found some clothes she was interested in buying, including a new dress. So she goes forth with the transactions through ebay and awaited her new items of fashion. The items finally arrive about a week later and as she opens them up she sees a familiar item…a dress of similar colour and cut to the one just sold. As she pulls it out to further investigate British Barbie sees the price tag still hanging from it – yes, my friends, she purchased the same dress back for a sum of £12 (about $19) and therefore had bought the dress twice for a sum of £24 (about $40).
