British Barbie and the Passport

Well here is another adventure from our overseas Barbie and her contributions to our blog.

British Barbie was taking a vacation with her sister and had her son, Colin, take the two of them to the airport.  Before leaving British Barbie double checked her purse to make sure that her passport was in on her.  On the way to the airport her son stopped to let British Barbie mail some letters.  British Barbie and her sister arrived at the airport and queued up to check in.  All of a sudden there was no passport.  Since she had double checked her purse before she had left she was adamant that the passport must have fallen out at the x-ray machine that all bags go through now.
So off goes British Barbie to check with security.  They can’t find the passport.  Since our British Barbie was insistent on the passport having been in her purse she was able to persuade the fine security staff at the airport actually opened up and dismantled the casings of the x-ray machine in case it fell inside.  Alas, it was not to be found.
The next logical solution was that our friend British Barbie must have dropped it as she was getting out of her son’s car.  Since it was 11.30pm and pitch black outside, our ever persuasive British Barbie managed to get the airport police to patrol the entranceway with their flashlights on and going up and down the road with such determination that you would have thought it was a crime scene investigation.  In the middle of all this British Barbie’s cell phone rang and it was her brother-in-law, Alan, calling.
Turns out that British Barbie dropped her passport while at the post box delivering letters.  A girl walking home found it, picked it up and called the emergency contact number on it.  That number happened to be British Barbie’s mum.  Her mum then called the Alan at work.  Alan met the girl who had found the passport and then rang Colin.  Colin was halfway home from the airport at this time so Alan flew off in his car, met Colin along the way and Colin drove off like Eddie Irvine back to the airport.  British Barbie met him outside the doors and with just minutes to spare managed to get onto her flight.  Upon boarding the plane British Barbie and her sister were met with a round of applause from both the stewardesses and the passengers since the adventures of the missing passport apparently had been told to them to explain what was happening with the two ‘missing’ passengers.
